1. When I log onto Twitter, it’s for the purpose of doing well on this assignment. Therefore, my whole experience on Twitter could, at first, be categorized as working under teleological time. However, once I start reading what others have written, the way I spend my time changes to stellar. That’s because I’m affected by what my peers have posted. Rather than move on to do work for another class, I end up clicking on a link that someone has posted and starts observing whatever that link leads me to; whether it’d be a funny youtube video or a fashion website filled with beautiful photographs. And once I start this process, I easily spend about half an hour doing something that I wouldn’t have if it weren’t for the person who posted a particular tweet that roused my interest. Sometimes I would make a reply to said post, and maybe even post something similar on my own page. I see the same thing happening to a lot of my peers on Twitter so I would say stellar is the most influential time for all of us.
2. Tale of the Three Apples contains a story within a story within a story. It is a tragic tale about a man who killed his wife over a misunderstanding. The narrator begins the story with two high ranking men discovering a mutilated female body by the Tigris River. They are angry over their findings and when they investigate, they find that the woman was murdered by her now remorseful husband. A story within a story first emerges when the husband tells the two men why he killed his wife. As the husband relates past events, we get to hear another story when he mentions his son’s tale of how the slave stole the apple.
Stellar is the dominating time theory in the overall story. The husband’s discovery of the slave with the apple changes the course of the lives of the husband and his family. He thought his wife had given it to the slave, and out of anger, he killed her. One can also conclude that if the son hadn’t stolen the apple in the first place, it wouldn’t have gotten in the hands of the slave, and therefore, his father would never have seen it. And of course, the two men at the beginning of the story wouldn’t have discovered this tragic story if they hadn’t found the severed body by the river.
3. Islamic militants and fundamentalists of countries like Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iraq display harsh and cruel treatments to its citizens, especially women, and others. That, in turn, tarnishes the reputation of those countries and the Muslim religion. However, as one of the few Islamic countries with very liberal views on cultural and other issues, Tunisia shows tolerance and open-mindedness as a Muslim nation. This country is also one of the leading Islamic nations fighting for woman’s rights. The majority of Tunisian Muslims believe that abusing one’s spouse is abominable. If one were to ask the people of Tunisia about the outcome of Tale of the Three Apples, it is very likely that the majority will not be in favor of the husband who took it upon himself to kill a wife he thought was cheating on him.

you right in the point that husband should not have taken the law in his hand in the first place. also he should not have assume about his wife cheating on him because assuming is not an evidence for a crime. for that he needs to bring a witness.
And about the women right, many people blame the religion of islam without knowing the detail rulings of it. and some people mixed up the religion with culture. they don't realize that culture and religion sometime can hold different views, and people like to go with culture and blame everything on religion, which is not fare.
But we're not being asked to provide ancient views about such issues, are we? And I don't think one should brush off mistreatment of women just because some occur less common than others, or things aren't as bad anymore. That doesn't make it less of a problem. And, yes, I'm sure there are other stories within 1001 nights with overlapping themes than the one I mentioned. But it wouldn't be logical to mention every single one of them.
I definetly agree with your post about twitter. Sometimes I dont necessarily care about what other are doing, but once I find that something interests me I will keep looking at other peoples tweets. Now that is is football season I like to see what people post about that, and then sometimes I will share my view as well.
haha ! yeah when i first signed up for twitter i was just doing it for class too and didnt really think much about it but i realize that whatever happens on it actually sometimes do affect what i do or what i was feeling? like i remember once you posted something about having dimsum and that totally affected me cause it made really wanted it so i stopped doing my work and went out to grab some also...LOLS
I pick the same tale to read - “The Tale of The Three Apples” and enjoyed it. The tale showed good examples of the behavior of a husband. Instead of finding out exactly what happened with apple, he decides to believe the slave instead of his wife.
It is not fare Mohammad to blame all on religion, but unfortunately sometimes certain websites or magazines reports the facts in a certain way that people tend to think all muslims act or think the same way...look for example in http://www.themuslimwoman.org/
at the begenning its written:
"In Islam, there is no such concept of free will, especially with respect to women folk. They are treated as mere commodities in the hands of men. They are battered, molested, killed when they ask for freedom. To make the situation worse, women have given no say in their own marriage. Girls less than ten years are given away to men over fifty years!"
I think it is a wrong start. The author should have said: in certain area, or certain people..very wrong in my opinion starting: In Islam...By doind so whoever reads this and have not very much knowledge of myslim culture and religion might think that Islam treat woman as comodities, or beat them.
Still me Mohammad...ha ha
One thing I want to say..I agree it is not right to generalize and I understand your point.But..there is a But.There are still certain fanatic countries and you know that where atrocities are committed on women and who commits those is not punished..PEople who held the power in certain countries do not do anything to change the situation..they want people to be ignorant and do those things since we both know the more ignorant people are the easier it is to control them..So you have to admit that in certain place muslim religion is used in a wrong way and to punish women and young girl who are undefended since even the police of the governemnt can protect them..Change in these countries can be brought in my opinion only by a revolution...and revolution starts when people feel the need for change.Until then I think there is no America or anyother power who can bring democracy or improve things. And I refer to Iraq and Afghanistan wars!
